ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVESThis role is part of the BAT Global Leaf Pool (GLP) Finance Team, working within the function sourcing and supplying the Group\'s tobacco requirements.The primary responsibility of the role is to support the Finance function with the Financial Planning and Analysis activities, as well as acting as Finance Business Partner for various supply chain teams requiring a strong ability to convey financial information to non-finance collaborators. The successful candidate will also be heavily involved in financial closing (month-end) periods which will require an advanced level of understanding of financial reporting and IFRS accounting requirements.WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
  • Driving a robust forecasting process to derive full P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements, including being able to dynamically remodel scenarios as assumptions change.
  • Preparation of supplementary analysis of movements in key financial statement line items against prior forecasts and targets to ensure integrity of the numbers.
  • Management of KPI delivery at key reporting periods to ensure the entity can deliver on its targets.
  • Prepare analysis of monthly financial information to facilitate Management meetings and business reviews.
  • Modelling scenarios to obtain financial insights into business changes and ad hoc optimisation initiatives.
  • Acting as finance business partner to various operational supply chain teams with an ability to convey financial information to non-finance collaborators.
  • Forecasting cash inflows / outflows aiming to support the Company\'s foreign exchange exposures, hedge placements and general liquidity management.
  • Handling the Company overheads budgets and cost allocations within the operations teams.
  • Being responsible for the oversight and validation of month-end journals prepared by the Finance team ensuring accruals and provisions align with IFRS requirements and are audit compliant.
  • Preparing and driving SOx controls and supporting information.
  • Collecting data and reporting GLP Internal control managerial self-assessment to support the Group\'s internal Control requirements.
  • Continually striving to identify initiatives of simplification and automation to improve process efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Supporting the finance SME with a project to replace the current ERP system over the medium term.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting and Finance, and/or ACCA/ACA/CIMA professional (or equivalent) qualification;
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel; previous experience with using and building PowerBI reports advantageous;
  • Experience with accounting software SAP platforms preferred;
  • Experience of working alongside non-finance / operational teams;
  • Experience and knowledge in accounting standards and principles;
  • Leadership skills with sound collaboration & communication skills;
  • Effective stakeholder engagement with internal and external collaborators;
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
