Commercial Financial Controller | Birmingham (Hybrid) | \xc2\xa370,000 - \xc2\xa390,000 pension, plus car, bonus, 25 days holiday, discount, benefits | Retail

Zachary Daniels Finance are partnering with a leading international retailer to appoint a newly created Commercial Financial Controller role. This omni-channel retailer has an impressive track record and is embarking on a new chapter of change and expansion. The environment is great, a positive culture with a modern working environment encouraging flexibility. The role will manage a team of Finance Business Partners and Commercial Finance Managers

About the role

This role is a member of the senior management team and will face off against many senior stakeholders but significantly with the Head of Retail and the Head of Property. The role has a great mix of finance business partnering, project delivery, as well as wider strategic finance support . Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role has a high profile and high exposure across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading and developing a team of qualified Commercial Finance Analysts and Finance Business Partners
  • Being a true Finance Business Partner to senior stakeholders and department heads across the business.
  • First class Commercial Finance provision including variance analysis & presentation
  • Communicating monthly results and providing recommendations to central department heads via regular one-on-one monthly meetings
  • Key support in delivering the annual budget process with the Board, along with quarterly reforecasting/rolling forecasts where required
  • Full P&L management of multiple sites and divisions
  • Detailed tracking of spend to assist with M&A decisions
  • Support ad-hoc projects as and when required
  • Complete ad-hoc requests from the Senior Finance team, UK&I FD, CFO and/or Executive Team
Person profile
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified
  • Qualified finance team management experience
  • Retail, multi-site or consumer experience
  • Experience within a fast moving, change & transformation environment will be beneficial
  • Proven commercial and business partnering skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
  • Oracle or large ERP experience would be beneficial
