Think Accountancy and Finance have exclusively partnered with a start up business based in Hemel Hempstead. This role has such depth and opportunity for someone looking for a highly commercial role!

My client is looking for someone who is a technically strong qualified accountant who is able to get into the detail and supply accurate and update reporting. It is essential that this person is fully transparent but able to be articulate with non-financial board members about the position of the company.

This role will work collaboratively with their partner company who will offer support and guidance as required.

It is essential that as a person you can build strong working relationship and trust with your colleagues. As well as take accountability for the numbers. You will have a seat on the board and will be required to challenge what is being done and needs to be done to drive profitability and in turn help grow the UK business.

With the head office in Hemel Hempstead, you will be required in the office 3 days a week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide the leadership team and the Board of Directors with timely and accurate financial reporting for UK Group and its subsidiaries;
  • Responsible for managing cash flow funding and forecasts
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including detailed analysis and insights,
  • Responsible for budgeting, financial forecasting and business planning
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to reforecast financials, as needed.
  • Manage statutory obligations including tax compliance, annual audit and financial statements, working with partner company where relevant.
  • Manage a finance team of 3 based in India; with responsibility for payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable;
  • Initiate and assist in financial modelling for specific financial and commercial projects as required;
  • Present the numbers with full transparency and a commercial plan around building profitability
  • Hold compelling and influential conversations with the board to drive business forward
Key experience required:
  • Qualified ACCA or CIMA or ACA Accountant
  • Proven work experience within a commercial finance manager position
  • Start up company experience would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the capability of addressing colleagues at all levels of seniority.
  • Have strong stakeholder experience
This role would be ideal for someone who perhaps qualified in Practice and have since been a commercial finance manager role and are looking for a role that gives them autonomy and the opportunity to grow a start up business in a great industry.
