As we expand our Design Team, we're looking for a Colour & Material Designer to help bring our seasonal collections to life through innovative colour and material choices.


This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented creative with a passion for colour, material innovation, and trend interpretation. If you have a sharp eye for storytelling through texture, print, and finish, and love working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this role is for you.


As a Colour & Material Designer, you will play a crucial role in executing seasonal palettes, material selections, and creative concepts that align with FitFlop's brand vision. Working under the leadership of the Head of Colour & Material Design, you will help translate seasonal direction into footwear collections that are innovative, consumer-right, and trend-conscious.





The Responsibilities:



Creative Execution




Support the Head of Colour & Material Design in developing seasonal colour and material stories based on trend research, consumer insights, and brand positioning. Create and maintain colour and material specifications for the seasonal range, ensuring accuracy and consistency across product categories. Develop and present mood boards, concept palettes, and material swatches to cross-functional teams. Work closely with footwear designers to ensure colour and material selections are seamlessly integrated into each collection. Assist in the creation of high-calibre creative footwear artwork to convey seasonal stories to the business. Research and introduce new materials, prints, and finishings that enhance product storytelling. Collaborate on brand partnerships and creative projects, providing colour and material expertise.

Collaboration & Trend Research




Work closely with Materials, Product Development, Sourcing, and Suppliers to ensure colour and material choices meet quality and commercial requirements. Stay closely connected to global trends in fashion, footwear, colour, material, and print to ensure FitFlop remains ahead of the curve. Research and experiment with new material techniques, print applications, and finishes to elevate the brand's creative direction.



The Person:





You'll already have experience in colour and material design within footwear, fashion, or accessories. Strong knowledge of footwear materials, print techniques, and finishings. High level of creativity with a strong storytelling ability through colour, texture + material choices. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D design software Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for colour precision. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across multiple teams. Proactive, organised, and able to handle multiple projects at once. A passion for sustainability and knowledge of sustainable material innovations is a plus. Experience with AI-powered design tools or a Graphic/Print specialism is a bonus.
