Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled

CNC Plasma Operator

to join our metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to cut various types and thicknesses of metal components with precision and efficiency. This role plays a critical part in the fabrication process and requires a strong understanding of metalworking, technical drawings, and CNC machine operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines for precision cutting of steel, aluminum, and other metals. Interpret and work from fabrication blueprints, cut lists, and CAD drawings. Select proper consumables and machine settings based on material type and thickness. Monitor machine operation and quality of cuts; make adjustments as needed. Perform routine maintenance on CNC plasma machines to ensure peak performance. Deburr and clean finished parts as required. Safely move and load metal sheets using forklifts, cranes, or hoists. Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure production accuracy and efficiency. Maintain clean and organized workstations and adhere to all shop safety protocols.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment in a metal fabrication setting. Strong knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, and cutting characteristics. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, and work orders. Experience with nesting software and CNC code (preferred). Comfortable using hand and power tools, grinders, and measuring instruments. Forklift and overhead crane operation experience (certification preferred). Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
