We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced School Facilities Manager to join our new Ashford cluster. We are seeking a proactive and resourceful individual to manage day-to-day site operations as well as maintaining a strategic overview of the school estate. A good working knowledge of health and safety and statutory compliance is required. Experience of working in an education setting and running a fully carbon neutral building are highly desirable, along with previous involvement in building handover processes. As the job covers multiple sites, it is key that the Cluster Facilities Manager can work in a \xe2\x80\x98stand- alone\xe2\x80\x99 capacity, with excellent organisational and time management skills. Travel between the schools in Ashford and Wye is required to meet the needs of the role. The ideal candidate will have BIFM membership along with IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications.
Chilmington Green School will be housed in state-of-the-art new buildings with specialist facilities including 9 science labs, spaces for creative and performing arts, design technology workspaces, with purpose-built library and Sixth Form areas. The school will have excellent sports facilities, with a sports hall, activity studio and outdoor pitches. The site itself is designed for pupils to benefit from outdoor spaces specifically created for teaching physical activity and recreation. The school will be one of the first in the country to be \xe2\x80\x98operating net carbon zero\xe2\x80\x99 and this theme of sustainability will not only be a core component of its buildings but will flow through the school\xe2\x80\x99s operational management, curriculum and enrichment activities. Initially opening in newly refurbished temporary accommodation, we are excited to welcome our first cohort of Year 7 students in September 2023.
