Job Description


The main purpose of the job is to contribute to the design, delivery and assessment of education in clinical pharmacology for undergraduate students where this is required for across all courses in the University.Main duties of the jobTeaching in clinical pharmacology, therapeutics and prescribing- Contributing to curriculum design for the new BSc in clinical pharmacology- Writing learning resources for face-to-face and online teaching-- Developing and organising clinical trials skills practicals, recruiting tutors- Delivering large and small group teaching to students on BSc in clinical pharmacology, MBBS and MPharm courses and other courses as appropriate- Contributing to assessment through blueprinting, question writing, reviewing, standard setting and marking- Contributing to other aspects of teaching e.g. clinical skills teaching, simulation, evaluation, course meetings, curating online content as neededClinical work- Deliver one clinic per week in polypharmacy- Contribute to medicines management in the trust e.g. through membership of the drugs and therapeutics committee, medicines optimisation projects (e.g. relating to polypharmacy)Personal development- The post-holder will be encouraged to register for and undertake the postgraduate certificate in healthcare and biomedical education during the post- The post-holder will have the opportunity to develop their academic skills through a research or quality improvement project relevant to the postAbout usCity St Georges, University of London is the University of business, practice and the professions.City St Georges attracts around 27,000 students from more than 150 countries.Our academic range is broadly-based with world-leading strengths in business; law; health and medical sciences; mathematics; computer science; engineering; social sciences; and the artsincluding journalism, dance and music.In August 2024, City, University of London merged with St Georges, University of London creating a powerful multi-faculty institution.
