We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Health care assistant, to work on the Admissions lounge at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The Admissions lounge is where the admission process for elective surgery begins. This includes general surgery, colorectal, breast, urology, ENT, Max-fax, and Orthopaedics.
As the HCA you will; be able to work as an effective team member, have the ability to work flexibly. Deliver high quality patient focused care, be motivated and committed to personal development.
You will work closely with all members of the multi disciplinary team to ensure a safe service delivery for patients and staff, participating in all aspects of the admission process. Full support will be given for you to achieve your developmental needs.
We expect staff to work together a s a team to achieve the best outcomes; you will be encouraged to work with your manager to identify any individual learning needs relevant to the area.
The Admission Lounge is a nurse led unit, main duties will include Admission paperwork on Lorenzo, E-outcome observations. ECGs if needed and venepuncture
You will work under the direct supervision of the qualified nurse but you will have your own patient case load.
This is a Monday to Friday service 7AM-5PM
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
