About the role
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join a collaborative programme between the University of Leicester and the new Personalised Cancer Prevention and Treatment theme within our NIHR Biomedical research Centre (BRC). The individual will undertake a clinical research project, which focusses on defining and addressing the barriers to healthcare equity in cancer. The post will study socio-economic, linguistic and other disparities informing patient and research pathways, contributing to the cancers of unmet need sub-theme.
About you
You will be responsible for patient recruitment, consent and study visits, data-analysis, writing manuscripts and disseminating your results.
As part of this role, you may co-supervise MSc and BSc project students within own area of speciality, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching of medical students and junior doctors.
The post is suitable for a clinically trained investigator, particularly those in specialist training or those eligible and planning to enter the specialist training grade for an oncology-based subject, and who wish to pursue a period of full-time research leading to a higher degree (MD or PhD).
You must be a GMC registered medical practitioner holding a licence to practice and possessing MRCP (UK) & MB BS or equivalent.
