Job Description


The Division of Psychology, Communication and Human Neuroscience is looking to appoint Clinical Lecturers or Clinical Senior Lecturers in Speech and Language Therapy (2 posts available). We are looking to appoint to either Teaching & Research (T&R) or Teaching and Scholarship (T&S: teaching-focussed) contracts. Two full-time roles are available, but candidates interested in a job-share are welcome to apply. The persons appointed will become key members of the SLT team, providing cutting-edge teaching (and research), and contributing to innovation, evaluation and development of SLT education here at Manchester.

The BSc Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) is a professional programme which is approved by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as the Professional Statutory Regulatory Body (PSRB) for the profession. We are a team of highly experienced educators, passionate about our high-quality curriculum and committed to delivering an outstanding student learning experience.

The persons appointed will carry out teaching and student support duties across the SLT programmes, and will be expected to make a contribution to curriculum development and the development and evaluation of innovative teaching methodologies as appropriate to the level of the post.

The post-holders will be expected to contribute to teaching and scholarship/research activities of the Division within their area of expertise and more broadly within Speech and Language Therapy. Under a Teaching & Research (T&R) contract, post-holders will be expected to supervise postgraduate research students (MSc/Mphil/PhD) and secure research funding to develop a portfolio of research activity.
