To contribute to the provision of health care to the people of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) with the responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery and evaluation of skilled professional care to the patient in the peri-operative care environment.The post holder will be expected to:o Act as a credible and professional role model.o Provide leadership, guidance, advice and liaison to the multi-disciplinary team.o Provide a conducive learning environment for students and registered staff.o Encourage and empower staff to develop both personally and professionally.o Provide the highest level of clinical expertise within the peri-operative care environment.o Undertake day-to-day management of a team of staff providing services in the perioperative care environment and satellite services.o Manage the resources for the clinical environments.o Manage the department as required.o Maintain and develop professional standards.o Continuing 24-hour responsibility for the management of the designated perioperative speciality, including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and setting of standards.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will:o Provide an authoritative and credible source of knowledge and specialist clinical or managerial advice as required.o Establish a clear focus and direction for the clinical team ensuring that all staff understand their role and are given guidance and support to fulfil them.o Create a working environment that nurture collegiate and collaborative working relationships with others in order to support and maintain staff morale.'o Provide specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team when required.o Create a working environment that encourages flexible, innovative, and creative working practices, including working flexibly to maximize operating theatre utilization.o Keep abreast of professional issues and current research-based practice and ensure these are reflected in practice by all staff.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.About usCwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family.
