This is an exceptional opportunity for ten clinicians to become part of this journey, leading digital transformation across the system as Clinical Informatics Lead (CIL). BHRUT office of clinical information is also seeking to recruit doctors to champion the digital drive-in clinical areas as Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Clinical Informatics Lead (CIL).

Are you dynamic, enthusiastic, and resilient? Are you fascinated by clinical digital transformation? We are seeking to recruit ten doctors with clinical backgrounds for each of our divisions. Clinical Professionals with a proven track record in digital transformation. The delivery leads will be responsible for supporting the delivery of multiple high-quality projects and major infrastructure projects.

The role is predominately transformational leading to the innovation and improvement of clinical services through the use of informatics to achieve:

These roles facilitate new ways of working through the use of digital and informatics technologies, transforming care delivery across all clinical environments and professions. It requires the postholders to act as ambassadors for the agenda across the system including acting as a spokesperson for the organisation.

Main duties of the job

Within the Trust: Providing strong clinical leadership for pathway and process redesign, selection of long-term digital solutions and support for clinical training, adoption and optimisation to deliver measurable benefits

With other Acute Trusts in NEL: work with counterparts in Barts and Homerton to build a consistent, high-quality digital infrastructure that supports shared capacity to meet the demand for our population provides the familiarity of workforce experience, training and development reduces unwarranted variation and provides scale and leverages digital replication and innovation

With other BHR/NEL health and care partners: Support whole pathway redesign, using digital innovation and continuous improvement to deliver measurable improvements for the patient experience and outcomes along the whole patient pathway.

Specific Trust-wide leadership roles in a wide range of deployment products related to Divisions and improvement projects across the full range of clinical information systems. For example, the Clinical Information Lead for Radiology is expected to lead on the Trust delivery of Ordercom.

Under the leadership of our Chair, Jacqui Smith and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive we provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. More than half of our 7,500 strong workforce are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and most live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. We also provide healthcare services to people in southwest Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.

Experience
  • Experience in professional leadership and operational management across a range of clinical specialities and care settings
  • Demonstrable experience managing clinical services and of leading improvements in clinical settings, patient care and experience across multiple specialities.
  • Knowledge and experience of human resources management, communicating highly complex and contentious information to individuals and large groups
  • Experience in actively leading clinical service improvements across multiple areas.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the interpretation and application of NHS Digital, Information and Technology Strategy, with a specific focus on Open Platforms and Interoperability as it relates to clinical systems
  • A commitment to the highest standards of Digital Governance and customer service.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Registered Medical/ Nursing/ Health Professional Practitioner - with current GMC/NMC/ Professional body Registration
  • Evidence of ongoing and relevant personal and professional development
  • A comprehensive understanding of the interpretation and application of NHS Digital Information and Technology strategy with a specific focus on open platforms and interoperability as it relates to clinical systems.
Desirable
  • Master\'s degree in a relevant discipline, clinical leadership or management or evidence of practical application of expertise at this level.
  • A commitment to the highest standards if Digital Governance and customer service
  • Experience in professional leadership and operational management across a range of clinical specialities and care settings
