The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust includes major teaching hospitals. A wide range of equipment is used for medical work - diagnosis, monitoring, therapy and technical work - throughout its wards, theatres, andclinical departments.The Clinical Engineering Department delivers high quality medical device maintenance repair and management services within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join MFT Clinical Engineering Team as Clinical Engineers, providing innovation, support and continuous improvement for our ORC workshop and our cross site IT and database systems.Main duties of the jobOur department is accredited to the ISO9001:2015 Quality Standard and is responsible for the management of all types of reusable medical device.The varied and interesting work includes database cleansing, process improvement and report writing using SQL, database query and vb.net, as well as Clinical Engineering support for our medical device users and patients.You are are expected to have knowledge of basic scientific and engineering principles along with awareness of Health and Safety legislation.You will be mainly based at workshops in Manchester Oxford Road but will need to be flexible as you will also be working at various Hospitals throughout Greater Manchester. You will need to have a logical and methodical approach to your work. You will need to be able to work as part of a team or on our own initiative and have good interpersonal and communication skills.It would be advantageous if you have experience in the field of engineering although this is not essential to the role.We will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.About usMFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of xc2xa32.8bn & is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts.
