Job Description

As Claims Manager you will be responsible for the management of the Claims and GAP Departments to ensure all deadlines are met in an effective and efficient manner.

An excellent communicator and leader are essential working with other departments to schedule work, resolve issues and ensure a positive outcome for the business as a whole.

Develop and implement best practice standards within the department to ensure all compliance and service standards are met and any risk to the business is minimised.

To provide a service to policyholders & clients in settling valid claims in accordance with the appropriate policy wording and agreed insurer and Company procedures meeting all respective SLA agreements.

Prepare monthly reports to show key performance of claims, payments, and telephone response times in accordance with our client's guidelines. Produce bespoke reports as required to facilitate the good management of the business.

Claims Responsibilities



1. Ensure that internal and insurers audits result in a 'Green' Audit result and actions arising are integrated into future claims handling.

2. Overseeing the processing of incoming claims to ensure they are handled efficiently and within policy guidelines.

3. Recommends and implements best practices to ensure complete and through claim settlements and investigations following company policies and insurance industry regulations

4. Investigating potentially fraudulent claims

5. Manage claims handling costs to agreed targets.

6. Carrying out QA weekly and feedback to the monthly department meetings to ensure claims handling is compliant and consistent to the policy wording.

7. Liaise with insurers as required regarding claims SLA's.

8. To handle complaints arising from the company. Register complaints and track progress through to completion and report to underwriters/Operations Director to required schedule.

9. Carry out regular one to one performance reviews with the teams' recording results and any areas of concern. Setting clear goals for improvement and monitoring this monthly raising any performance concerns to the Chief operating officer and HR as required.

10. Act as a technical referral for the Claims team and other staff within the business as required.

Managerial Responsibilities



1. Manage the day to day running of the Claims and GAP Departments by planning the Department's workload, delegating tasks as appropriate and monitoring their completion.

2. Provide training and continued support to individual team members as part of the Appraisal and HR process.

3. Arrange cross-training of team members to provide sickness and holiday cover.

4. Planning staff resources to meet the business strategy in the coming year.

5. Ensure the Claims Department is compliant with Health and Safety legislation.

6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulators as per the Company level training plan.

Technical Skills and Abilities



Essential:



A good Mechanical, Electical, High Voltage, technical knowlwdge of all types of motor vehicles including E.V vehicles. Applicants must have worked in the Automotive Industry preferably with a Premium Brand, but not essential Be able to build good relationships with all colleagues, includng those in other offices and countries. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and high level of attention to detail. Be a pro-active learner with a desire to develp. IT Literate confident using a range of programmes, email, word, and in particular have intermediate skills in Excel Ability to work as a team player, collaborate effectively and focused on delivery and achieving team goals. To work efficiently, to tight deadlines and prioritise work load. Able to quickly assimilate information and report clearly and concisely to Senior Management and stakeholders. Ensuring that the customer experience is at the heart of everything you do, always treating customers fairly. Create a culture across the department of innovation and agility, ensuring everyone in the department is constantly looking for ways to improve service to our clients and Customers. Collaborate with departments and your colleagues and the wider business to drive the correct outcome for our customers.

Desirable



Fluent in either French or German both written and Spoken

Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience



A minimum of NVQ3 Light Mechanical Repair Technology with operational experience within the OEM Automotive Industry High Voltage Knowledge and Capability in both Repair and Systems 5+ years Automotive Technical Insurance Claims experience and held a Claims Managerial Position. Familiarity with claims management software and systems
