As a design engineer at Field you will be involved in the design of our battery sites from the origination stage, through development and planning and finally into construction. In origination you will be involved with the initial identification of sites and creating the concept design that will enable our origination and legal teams to negotiate a suitable plot of land. The project then moves into the development stage; as Field are owner and operator of our sites, we do a lot of upfront design in-house. It is at this stage that the design engineer takes ownership of the site design and works with our internal experts in planning and construction as well as external consultants to act as Principle Designer and create the safe and constructable battery sites that we go on to build. You will create the 2D site plans, equipment drawings and complete 3D modelling using both Civil 3D and REVIT as well as leading design reviews with all the key stakeholders in the project in accordance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. Once a project has received planning consent you will then work with our construction project managers to help optimise the site for build based on the detailed design drawings from the contractor.
Within Field you will get exposure to the latest battery technology, work in a team of experts in the UK and Europe and contribute to the growth of the company as we contribute to the global climate goals. You will work in a fast paced environment and you will be able to work with full autonomy with control over the projects you work on. As the company continues to grow, you will also help develop and optimise our design processes to ensure they are scalable for use in the UK and Europe.###
