Childrens Supported Living Registered Manager

Job Description

To provide leadership and operational management for a Children's Supported Living service, ensuring high-quality, child-centered care in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and OFSTED expectations. You will be responsible for safeguarding, staffing, care planning, and compliance to regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure high standards of care and support are delivered in accordance with individual care plans and safeguarding protocols. Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of support staff. Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff. Ensure the home meets all regulatory standards and is prepared for OFSTED inspections. Maintain accurate and timely records, including care plans, incident reports, and risk assessments. Develop positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies. Promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and positive outcomes for children. Manage budgets and resources effectively. Ensure health and safety, fire safety, and risk management procedures are followed.

RequirementsEssential:



Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards within 18 months). At least 2 years of experience in a senior role within children's residential or supported living care. Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations, safeguarding, and children's care standards. Clear enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce). Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings/weekends as required.

Desirable:



Previous experience as a Registered Manager in a children's care setting. Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Experience with complex needs, trauma-informed care, or behavioural challenges. Familiarity with Croydon Council and local support services.
