Job Purpose:


As a Children's Senior Support Worker, you will lead a small, highly trained team to deliver exceptional care for children and young people. You will be responsible for guiding and supporting your team, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and support are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and manage shift teams, ensuring care is tailored to the needs of each child. Support the Residential Care Manager in the day-to-day operations of the home, including health and safety, quality control, and staff management. Mentor and supervise staff, contributing to their training and professional development. Develop and maintain individual care plans, reviewing progress and making adjustments as necessary. Ensure compliance with the Social Care and Well-being Act 2014 and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care Act 2016. Facilitate communication with external agencies to access appropriate services for the children. Participate in the rota and be prepared to work shifts as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:



Essential:



QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People's Residential Management) or equivalent. Please do not apply if you do not have this qualification or its equivalent (please check the Social Care Wales website for commensurate qualifications). Experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting. Knowledge of relevant legislation and child protection procedures. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others.

Desirable:



Working towards or holding a Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care. Experience in budget management and inspection processes.

Personal Attributes:



Strong organisational, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Approachable, honest, and reliable. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
