Permanent - Full Time

Hours:

40 hours per week (21:30pm - 07:30am)

Shift Pattern:

Monday - Sunday, working on a rota basis

Cornerstone Children's Homes is currently seeking a dedicated Waking Nights Care Worker to join our team in Reading.

Role Overview:


You will work therapeutically with vulnerable and challenging young people, supporting them both practically and emotionally during night hours, and helping them progress towards their individual future goals.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide emotional and practical support to young people during the night. Be a positive role model, maintaining high standards of personal presentation and conduct. Encourage young people to build meaningful relationships in line with their care plans. Maintain detailed computer records, complete reports, and support the general upkeep of the home. Safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in your care.

Ideal Candidate:



Experience working with vulnerable young people who have social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties is preferred, although candidates with a strong desire to develop skills in this field will also be considered. Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or NVQ Children and Young People's Workforce. Ability to work with young people from diverse backgrounds. Resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour constructively. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be at least 23 years old to meet Ofsted regulations.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS disclosure (or be checked against the Update Service) as part of the safeguarding process.
