Are you passionate about helping young people change their lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Young Persons Children and Families Worker with our expanding young persons Jigsaw Service in Nottingham City.

This is not a usual drug and alcohol service; it is an innovative and forward-thinking project, with a proven track record of effectively engaging young people, young adults and their families. Our ethos is centred around the principles of harm reduction, we provide non-judgmental, fact-based, information and advice surrounding drug and alcohol use and the associated risks.

We aim to give young people and young adults the knowledge and skills to make more informed choices, to keep themselves and their peers aware, safe, and well when it comes to drugs/alcohol.

Where: Jigsaw Nottingham City

When: to start in October 2023.

Hours: 37.5hrs per week.

Salary: \xc2\xa326,393 - \xc2\xa330,316 dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • To engage children and young people in a range of interventions, utilising a family centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and lead a safe, happy and healthy life.
  • Identify families in conjunction with other agencies, who will benefit from the Think Family / Whole family approach, negotiating participation and engagement with the programme of care;
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people effected by parental substance misuse;
  • Ensure that appropriate safeguarding practice is followed at all times, working in partnership with statutory agencies where appropriate;
  • Provide assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning and after care support, including transfer of care
  • Provide service user advocacy to support engagement from and access to partnership services;
  • Work with service users to support positive, holistic outcomes in relation to their health and wellbeing, enabling them to lead safe, healthy and purposeful lives: reducing risk and increasing resilience.
About you:
  • Experience of working with families who have multiple risk factors e.g., Parental mental health, parental substance misuse, domestic violence, anti-social behaviour, unemployed, poor / unsuitable housing, parental disability, parental learning disability
  • Experience of delivering 1:1 and group work, including evidenced based interventions
  • Extensive experience of working in the substance misuse field
  • Experience of working in close partnership with key stakeholders including Children\xe2\x80\x99s Services, schools, primary care and contributing to / chairing multi-agency meetings
  • The ability to undertake comprehensive assessments, care-planning, case management and reviews
  • Experience of delivering training to professionals
  • The ability and willingness to be empathetic, inclusive and non-judgemental in your practice
  • Practical knowledge of relevant legislation and application of safeguarding children & young people policies and procedures

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)

CGL points 23 to 28 (\xc2\xa326,393.77 - \xc2\xa330,316.74)
