We are looking for committed and self-motivated people who would like to set up their own home-based childcare business. Your role is an important, rewarding one as you will be shaping the lives of young children, whilst having fun at the same time. Childminders are home early educators. We call them educators in recognition of their specialist role providing care and early education to children in a home setting. How does it work? We provide full step-by-step support and training to set up a business in 2 \xe2\x80\x93 3 months. We also help you with marketing to find parents looking for childcare. Once registered with paying families, your income could be typically Up to \xc2\xa345k pa depending on your business capacity and location. There is a \xc2\xa31200 government business grant to help with start-up costs. You will continue to receive on-going support and training as a member of our professional community. Best of all, if you are a parent yourself, you can care for other people\xe2\x80\x99s children, whilst caring for your own child so saving money on childcare fees. You can work as a childminder from all kinds of houses: privately or council rented, a house that you own and it can even be in an apartment. It just needs to be a safe place for children, and we can help you make it suitable! You will need to have some funds to invest in essentials needed to register as a childminder such as suitability checks, and the government business grant will cover initial start-up costs. The training and registration process includes:

• 3 \xe2\x80\x93 4 months registration process including undertaking various background checks to verify suitability to work with children
• Pre-registration training with a business planning programme
• A health & safety visit to your house

Minimum Requirements

• You are a suitable person with no criminal convictions that would affect your ability to work with children (applies to you and your household members)
• You are in good health so that you can be active with children
• You have capacity to care for good numbers of children e.g. 2 or 3 during the day and some school-aged children before & after school
• You are interested in setting up and being registered within 2 \xe2\x80\x93 4 months
• You have good levels of English & Maths for understanding and implementing the early years curriculum and running a business
