Purpose of the Job:
To provide a quality childcare service within a family support and play project. This work is carried out within the context of the Promise, Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) - Wellbeing Indicators and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
General Responsibilities:
Provide a curriculum based programme of learning and development activities for children.
Provide the service in accordance with the requirements of the Care Inspectorate and within the policies and procedures of Stepping Stones for Families with particular reference to Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Rights of the Child and Health and Safety
Contribute to the planning and development of the childcare service.
Work as part of the Childcare Team to ensure quality services for the children.
Establish good communication with the parents / carers.
Provide a safe and stimulating environment which meets the needs of the children
Person Specification:
Essential:
SCQF Level 7 SVQ Social Services Children and Young People or HNC Early Education and Childcare or equivalent
Proven experience of working within an early years setting.
Ability to plan and deliver a range of activities for children in their early years.
Working knowledge of GIRFEC and the Wellbeing Indicators.
