We are seeking Chefs to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and production, with good attention to detail for consistent presentation of food. As a Chef in Rest Bay Cafe, you will play a major role in kitchen operations and speed of service, ensuring food safety standards are met, and assisting the team to deliver great dining experiences and quality food for our customers.
Duties
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
Manage customer orders and ensure food goes out to a good standard.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and portion control guidelines.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders when necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Train new staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Experience
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Excellent organisational skills and timekeeping with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
