We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our small kitchen team to work alongside the F&B Manager and existing Chef. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food production and preparation within a restaurant environment. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This role requires an adaptable team player who can thrive in a busy kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.
Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain optimal stock.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
Train new kitchen staff on culinary techniques, safety practices, and operational procedures.
Manage food presentation to ensure dishes are visually appealing before serving.
Requirements
2+ years proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and food safety regulations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation.
Passion for cooking and creativity in developing new recipes and menu items.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
