Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our dishes are prepared to the highest standards, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring ingredients accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during busy periods. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager. Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within a restaurant environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation. A team player with good communication skills who can collaborate effectively with others in the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. Previous experience working in a Caribbean restaurant or handling Caribbean cuisine is ideal
