An excited opportunity has arisen for a chef/ Cook to work win a busy kitchen. Working with fresh produce you must have a passion for cooking and food. You will be working in a extremely fast paced environment so you must be able to work as part of a team and on your own. Must be able to follow recipes and create your own mouth watering dishes.

This position will require you to work independently and be organized to work in a timely manor

Working 5 over 7 days & 28 days holiday including Christmas & Boxing day off.

This is a job roll will include covering our restaurant team but mainly our fresh street food takeaway and mobile unit moving all over Yorkshire. This job would suit some one who drives but not necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food items, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients, under the guidance of experienced chefs.

2. Cooking: Learn and perform basic cooking techniques and tasks, such as grilling, sauteing, and frying, while adhering to established recipes and culinary standards.

3. Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and workstations, to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

4. Ingredient Handling: Receive, store, and handle food products properly, ensuring freshness and safety while following all food safety guidelines.

5. Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods to be able to assist with food preparation and plate assembly.

6. Quality Control: Assist in quality control measures, including tasting, garnishing, and ensuring that all dishes are presented to meet the restaurant's standards.

7. Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team, including chefs, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

8. Learning and Development: Actively engage in culinary education and training programs provided by the restaurant, and continually improve your culinary skills.

9. Compliance: Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards, including health and safety regulations, and follow the restaurant's policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. A strong passion for cooking and an interest in pursuing a career as a chef.
3. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
4. Willingness to learn, take direction, and follow recipes.
5. Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
6. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus but not required.
7. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Training and Education:
This position is designed to provide on-the-job training and development in the culinary arts. The successful candidate can be enrolled in an apprenticeship program or similar culinary education program to further their skills and knowledge.
