Independent Chair
to lead the board of an established not-for-profit organisation that maintains the UK's national register of
Approved Plumbers and Water Professionals
. This vital service helps consumers and businesses find the nearest qualified contractor to help keep water supplies safe in homes and businesses.
About the Role:
As Chair, you'll lead a board of directors drawn from across the water and plumbing industry. Your leadership will help shape strategy, uphold standards, and ensure the organisation delivers on its mission to protect public health by helping consumers choose qualified installers, who have specific training to meet strict legal requirements.
You'll act as a key ambassador for the organisation, bringing independent oversight, strategic direction, and support to a small but impactful operation to grow its influence and deliver its mission.
What You'll Bring:
Experience operating at
Board level (10+ years)
, ideally as a Chair or NED
Strong leadership, communication, and governance skills
A collaborative and inclusive style, with the confidence to challenge constructively
Experience in regulated industries, membership bodies, or public services is desirable
