Are you a devoted cat lover with a knack for nurturing our feline friends? Barn Owls Cattery in Manston is on the lookout for a new team member to join us.

Position:

Seasonal Cattery Assistant

Location:

Barn Owls Cattery, Manston

Hours:



Saturday

6.00am - 11.30am + min1 hour Saturday afternoon/evening for afternoon feeds

Sunday

8.00am - 11.00am + min 1 hour Sunday afternoon/evening for afternoon feeds (start time flexible)

Hours will vary due to seasonal changes, applicant needs to be flexible to suit busy and quieter periods

Peak season is typically April - September.

Additional hour s to cover owners occasional seasonal vacation breaks throughout the year. During this time cover could be full time (Mon 0 Sun) up to to a 2 week period

Responsibilities:



Early morning feeding, Cleaning multiple Cattery pens

Front of house Reception duties including, checking In/Out customers cats, taking phone calls using our booking software. Full training provided for this (a very basic level of pc skills required) You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, Confident, Calm, Caring and Reassuring as you will be dealing with customers who may need anxious leaving their family pet in our trust. Ability to work independently, as youwill be working mostly on your own. Full deep clean of Cattery Pens on change over days General cleaning in the cattery, including kitchen, food storage, toilet, reception area, cattery equipment and food trolley Handling cats with care and confidence Engaging with customers Independently managing the Cattery whilst management take occasional leave. Duties include, front of house reception duties, including taking phone calls using our booking software. Full training provided for this (a very basic level of pc skills required)

Job Requirements:


This is a physically demanding position. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Physical Fitness:

Must be physically fit in order to keep up with the fast pace of the cattery demands. A typical day on top of normal daily duties can consist of deep cleaning 10+ pens ready for new arrivals.

Work Efficiently:

Able to work quickly and efficiently within time constraints.

Initiative and Awareness:

Must demonstrate excellent initiative and awareness by identifying tasks that need attention without requiring prompts.

Personal Skills:

Must have a friendly, kind, caring nature, and be confident when interacting with customers. Able to maintain a calm and gentle demeanor around the cats that compliments the work environment.

Computer Skills:

Basic proficiency in computer usage is required (training will be provided).

Flexibility:

Availability for additional hours as needed.

Transportation:

Must be able to drive or have reliable access to transportation due to the location.

Affinity for Cats:

Applicants should have a genuine affection for cats and be confident in handling them.
