About the role:

Based within the Estates & Facilities Team, the Catering Service has outlets in Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough, and also provides hospitality for meetings and events. The Catering Operations Manager is responsible for running and developing the catering operation in Cambridge and Peterborough. We have three outlets in Cambridge and one in Peterborough, as well as providing hospitality for meetings and events. This is an exciting time to join our team \xe2\x80\x93 we\xe2\x80\x99ve just completed a major refurbishment of our largest catering outlet in Cambridge and have a clear vision for the future of the Service. Your role will be to ensure the smooth running of our catering operation at Cambridge and Peterborough, whilst also ensuring continuous development and improvement of the service. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be willing to jump-in and be hands-on as and when needed.

You will be a passionate foodie, who keeps up-to-date with food trends. A strong leader with attention to detail and high standards. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be confident with learning and using software, and will need to be confident in using EPOS software, ordering and recipe management software and hospitality software. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have substantial catering management experience with a strong commercial understanding. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be willing and able to travel between Cambridge and Peterborough on a regular basis.

Working hours will be mostly Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends. We\xe2\x80\x99re open to discussing flexible working hours to support your work-life balance, however we do require someone who can commit to working 4 days per week on-site. In a typical week most of your time will be spent in Cambridge with 1 day per week in Peterborough.
