Job Title: Catering Assistant Trust: Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Location: Pinderfields Hospital Pay rate: \xc2\xa311.45 per hour plus enhanced pay for weekends and bank holidays Hours / Shifts: 37.5 hrs per week, 07:30 \xe2\x80\x93 15:30 & 11:30 \xe2\x80\x93 19:30 on a rota basis (5 days over 7, working 2 weekends out of 3, including bank holidays) NHS Professionals require a pro-active and hardworking catering assistant to work within the catering department at Pinderfields Hospital. We have an ongoing placement opportunity available for a catering assistant at Pinderfields Hospital. Catering assistants are responsible for cooking food in NHS hospitals and other services making sure our patients and staff have highly nutritious, high-quality food. You\'ll work with the catering manager to make sure that food and drink is nutritious and appetising. The food must meet patients\' medical and cultural needs including, for example, gluten free, low fat, soft food, halal, and vegetarian. Your duties will include but are not limited to: \xc2\xb7 The hygienic handling of food products \xc2\xb7 Provide a food service to wards and the staff restaurant \xc2\xb7 Serving patient/staff meals \xc2\xb7 Taking and recording of food temperatures \xc2\xb7 General cleaning of kitchen \xc2\xb7 Complying with health and safety regulations Skills required: \xc2\xb7 Needs to be physically fit \xc2\xb7 Level 2 Food Safety certificate is desirable \xc2\xb7 Awareness of food hygiene and food safety \xc2\xb7 Basic literacy and numeracy \xc2\xb7 Previous experience of working in a commercial catering environment About the trust Mid Yorkshire is a local Trust providing compassionate, expert care for over half a million people every year, in their homes, in the community and across our three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields.
