Start time of 5/6am until finish within Tachograph and WTD rules.

Our family run business is seeking a talented, hardworking and ambitious Driver to help us grow our business.

The Role, General Responsibilities and Activities

The role of a cover driver is to drive a rigid waste collection vehicle to our customers sites to empty their waste containers,. This role does include driving multiple modes from Tradewaste, Skips, RORO and FEL. Drivers are provided with a touchscreen tablet which organises jobs for the day and records work carried out.

Activities consist of emptying our wide range of customers bins in a timely and professional manor.

Responsible for keeping vehicle clean and presentable alongside ensuring the vehicle is safe to operate. This is determined by daily checks.

Ensuring areas are kept clean and tidy after every service.

Maintain a log of work carried out via a tablet provided to track work and wheelie bin weights.

Operate safely at all times.

You must hold a current valid Drivers CPC card and Digital Tachograph card.

It is also a requirement that you are competent in using and have a full understanding of a Tachograph and the current Tachograph Regulations..

You must be conversant with operating within the requirements of the current EU.

Skills and Experience

Tachograph experience and working time directive.

Preferred experience of refuse trucks

Knowledge of greater Manchester is preferred but not essential.

Minimum HGV Class 2.

Customer Service.

knowledge of the Waste Industry desirable.

Willingness to learn new skills

Schedule:

Monday to Friday.

Weekend work is available.
