Salary:

The starting salary is 34,808, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.


The salary is broken down as 31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 34,108 Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

Issue of cash to officers in relation to covert expenditure, and in accordance with CFU Financial controls Verification of all expenditure and reconciliations in accordance with audit criteria Input of data to various restricted & covert databases Provide advice and training and assistance to officers on policy and with regards to completion of forms where necessary Administration & Top-up of the sections bank accounts through Finance Services using On-Line Banking systems Provide general support and advice to the MPS covert policing teams Administer the credit control process and topping up of bank accounts Provide administrative support to the Band D in relations to provisions of data for cost recovery purposes and journal creation. Carry out reasonable general ad-hoc tasks as requested by Line Management Maintain the cashbook records for all income and expenditure bank accounts & submission of weekly reimbursement claims to Finance Services Manage cash floats for all accounts including daily and weekly documented cash counts Verify all cash payments making use of the appropriate database and updating the system daily. Process external cost recovery & create journals Assist in providing dip sampling data to be verified by superintendents Provide accurate data entry and integrity checks on all database systems Administer the credit control process in relations to outstanding receipted expenditure and permanent/temporary imprests. Willing to undergo training on other sections within the CFU and assist as necessary Comply with data management in accordance with MetSEC regulations and the Protective Marking Scheme, including PIXYS.

Essential For The Role

Essential Criteria



Excellent written and oral communication skills, experience of using excel based spreadsheets and an aptitude to adapt to using various corporate IT applications such as PSOP and Database.

Desirable Criteria



Good knowledge of Police Expenses Regulations and or willingness to undertake training. Previous experience in Cash Handing & Account Reconciliations would be beneficial but not essential.
