This is a really exciting time to join the statutory special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) team in Hertfordshire. We are looking for 2 Casework Team Leaders to oversee our EHC Coordinators who are responsible for Education, Health, and Care Annual Reviews.
The team focuses on coordinating professionals across education, health and care and coproducing plans and provision with families.
We\'re looking for professionals with experience of leading a team, and a knowledge or experience of the Statutory Education, Health and Care plans and the review process including and EHC plan caselaw and casework. The ideal candidate would have worked in education, with some experience of supporting staff and delivering competing deadlines.
The Casework Team Leads will oversee the effective management of SEND assessment casework, ensuring that this complies with statutory requirements, supports the authority\'s policies and strategies, and builds stakeholder confidence in the service.
You\'ll support your team to coproduce Education Health and Care plans in a person-centred way, maintaining excellent communication and quality standards. You\'ll keep an eye on the data and performance of the team, ensuring that we meet our statutory timescales.
You\'ll provide line management and supervision to the team, ensuring that every member of the team delivers our statutory SEND obligations and works to achieve the overall service targets and development plan. You\'ll support ongoing professional development, including induction, delivering training, and performance management processes for your team.
This is a fast-paced environment; recruiting to a range of job roles that make a real difference to the children and young people in our county. Therefore, you\'ll need to be able to work under pressure and be extremely well organised, taking a pro-active approach to your workload. You will support EHC Co-ordinators with their day to day work and casework, ensuring the team are supported to communicate effectively with stakeholders and meet their deadlines.
You will strive to maintain, develop and improve professional, supportive working relationships with education settings and parents in relation to EHC assessments and plans.
You will have excellent knowledge of experience of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice and SEND Regulations 2014. Experience of managing staff and delivering excellent service outcomes in a previous role is strongly desirable. You must have a current driving license and access to a car to be able to travel to a range of work bases and schools and this role does require you to be in one of our offices regularly and some countywide travel. You will be educated to degree level or have significant experience of a range of work within education.
If you have an unrelenting drive to ensure excellent outcomes for children with special educational needs and disabilities, and you can motivate and manage a team to achieve this - this may be your perfect role!
Closing date: Midnight 25th September
Interviews: 3rd and 4th October
