Casework Officer Job description
Full-Time, Fixed-Term (for 12 months)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Assessment Casework Officer to join Client and Carer Financial Services (C&CFS), which is the Adult Social Care Finance Team.
What are the duties of the role?
Your primary focus will be to review client contributions for citizens receiving care or support from Bristol City Council to ensure that they are contributing the correct amount to the cost. This will include looking at the financial information that their current contribution is based on and recognising when there has been a change in their circumstances that would affect their client contribution.
You will be encouraging the use of our online financial assessment tool to gather information, but occasionally you may need to arrange a face-to-face visit in the client\xe2\x80\x99s home, requiring travel within the Bristol area. Our team mainly work from home, but has the option to work in City Hall, College Green, Bristol.
What are we looking for?
You should be computer literate and comfortable with working to tight timescales and pre-determined deadlines, as C&CFS is a busy, but very supportive team. You will need to be comfortable communicating complex financial information to clients and/or their financial agents, particularly to those who English is not their first language or may need an interpreter. A knowledge of entitlement to state benefits would be beneficial.
