Job Purpose:

The Carpenter will be responsible for creating, assembling, and repairing a variety of furniture pieces according to specifications. This role requires excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work with different materials and tools to deliver high-quality finished products that meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:Material Preparation:

Select, measure, and prepare wood, fabrics, and other materials required for furniture production.

Blueprint and Design Interpretation:

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design plans accurately.

Tool and Equipment Management:

Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery to complete projects efficiently.

Furniture Repair and Maintenance:

Repair and refurbish damaged furniture pieces to restore them to original or updated specifications.

Quality Control:

Inspect completed products to ensure they meet the company's quality and craftsmanship standards.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and organized workshop environment.

Inventory Management:

Assist in managing inventory of raw materials, tools, and hardware, and report shortages as necessary.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the design and sales teams to meet customer expectations and production deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years as a carpenter, preferably in a furniture manufacturing or retail environment.

Craftsmanship:

High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Technical Skills:

Skilled in operating woodworking machinery and using hand tools.

Design Understanding:

Ability to read and follow technical drawings and blueprints.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Capable of identifying production issues and implementing practical solutions.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet production timelines.

Knowledge:

Understanding of different types of wood, materials, finishes, and joinery techniques.

Health and Safety:

Strong knowledge of workshop safety procedures and regulations.

Work Environment:

The role will primarily involve working in a busy furniture workshop, requiring precision, manual dexterity, and a strong commitment to maintaining quality standards. Flexibility, teamwork, and excellent time management skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 22,300.00-29,000.59 per hour
