Salary: FC5 \xc2\xa323,952.34 - \xc2\xa326,242.46 (Pro-Rata)

Job Details

Duties include all aspects of personal care, must have the ability to undertake all Manual Handling techniques including the pushing and pulling of wheelchairs, the use of all C.A.L.M. techniques, candidates must be physically fit to undertake all aspects of C.A.L.M. training.

The successful candidate will act as keyworker, including monitoring and ensuring the service user is being offered the opportunities, experience, care and support identified in their support plan.

The role will include keeping accurate records of outcomes focused support planning and review for the people whom you support, ensuring changes in service user health and wellbeing, support plans, risk assessments etc. are recorded and communicated across the team.

You will work as part of a team liaising with colleagues to ensure an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to service delivery.

Service users may expect their keyworker to plan with them ways of meeting their individual needs, keeping accurate records of outcomes focused support planning and review for the people whom you support.

The successful candidate will promote social inclusion by working with people to maximise their personal independence, health and wellbeing to access opportunities in their local communities, the role will include working as part of a team as well as lone working.

Flexibility will be required in the way the days/hours are worked; this is dependent on the needs of service users. The successful candidate will work on a Rota basis which include days, evenings, sleepovers/wakened nights, and weekends including public holidays, Christmas and New Year.

The role of the Care Practitioner can be physically and emotionally demanding.

The Person

Must have or be willing to achieve in the first period of registration, the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 7 (equivalent to SVQ3) or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration.

Duties include all aspects of personal care and have the ability to undertake all moving and handling tasks including the pushing and pulling of wheelchairs.

Flexibility will be required in the way the days/hours are worked for each post dependent on the needs of service users.

The successful candidate will work on an as required basis which includes days, evening, weekends, sleep-ins, and wakened nights, including public holidays, Christmas and New Year the successful candidate will promote social inclusion by working with people to maximise their personal independence, health and wellbeing and to access opportunities in their local communities.

The successful candidate must demonstrate good communication skills, organisational skills, ability to manage and prioritise workload, ability to work with minimal supervision, team working skills, literacy skills, and have IT skills and the ability to lead and mentor Care Assistants, the role will include working as part of a team as well as lone working.

You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period.

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

You will save money on your SSSC fees as these will now be paid for all roles and grades by the Scottish Government.
