Milford Care are looking for a permanent Care Leader to join our fantastic, hard-working team at The Meadows care home. Care leaders have responsibility for all aspects of the daily operation of care delivery and must ensure that it is in keeping with the style and service as laid down by the senior management. You would work with a team of care assistants to ensure high quality care is delivered to our residents.

The Meadows has achieved the Derbyshire Dementia Standards Award, which recognises the philosophy of the home to deliver "person-centred" care, delivered by well-trained and supported staff with the aim of 'bringing out the best in everybody'. The Meadows also hold The Derbyshire Dignity Campaign Award and The Derbyshire End of Life Quality Award, which in order to achieve, it had to be demonstrated that excellent End of life Care was delivered in a number of ways..

Details of this Care Leader position and what the home is offering:



Permanent, full-time Care Leader contract, working shifts (6:45am - 2pm and 1.45pm - 9pm). Rate of pay is 13.68 per hour A comprehensive induction and ongoing learning and development opportunities A supportive atmosphere with a fantastic team spirit

What We Are Looking For In a Care Leader:



Experience working in a UK nursing home setting is required, but training will be provided. You will have a keen interest in working in older peoples' services. You must have an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or above, and have medication training A flexible approach to shift patterns and able to adhere to a 7 day rota You will be compassionate and respectful and able to build relationships with colleagues and those that you care for

Purpose of Position:



Support the Registered Manager in order to ensure that the Home complies with the relevant Act and all other legislation applicable to the Home. To control and give any medication as prescribed with proper monitoring of the drug, dose, time, route and person to whom it is given, following the Medication Policy and Procedure laid out in the Quality Manual. Ensure medication documentation is completed with 100% accuracy at all times. Undertake annual Medication competency Liaise with Doctors in respect of medical condition / treatment for Residents. Liaise with resident's next of kin and ensure that they are informed of any changes to health/condition and kept abreast of any accidents or incidents. Support the Registered Manager in ensuring that care staff supervisions, performance appraisals and assessments are carried out and followed up on in order to identify and promote appropriate training and/or individual achievement requirements Take overall responsibility for the daily routine of the shift whilst liaising with the Registered Nurses Mentor new care assistants and team leaders as required
