Work locations:
Home based within North Wales
Based where you live in North Wales you'll be able to travel across North to Mid Wales regularly. There is some occasional travel to our Head Office (Cardiff) for induction, training and team meetings as required. IT equipment is provided, and you'll need a suitable home working space.

We're Recruiting a Cancer Community Engagement Officer!
We're passionate about engaging with local Welsh communities and their needs when it comes to cancer. And we not only want to represent this but promote awareness of our cancer support services to them so we can make a difference when they need our help and support most.
To be our North Wales Cancer Community Engagement Officer we're looking for your skills to demonstrate you've the essentials of the job specification. This means you've:
The tenacity, adaptability and right skills to research, relationship build and project manage to find and develop strong and effective relationships with a range of local and community groups we can interact with
A style of communication where you interact with, facilitate and present to groups well
An approach to careful and good self-managed work where you can gather data and information as part of a project and translate it into results
An independent way of managing your time so you're organised, meet deadlines and have room to change and adapt your work focus and priorities whilst making sensible decisions
The knowledge and awareness when it comes to equal opportunities and the barriers faced by people affected by cancer
The experience of working with a diverse range of people and understanding the needs of seldom heard groups such as those who are digitally excluded
The attitude and behaviour that reflectscompany values and shows you're a team player who collaborates with others and keen to explore new ideas and ways of working
A practical understanding of working with or supervising volunteers
The Cancer Community Engagement Officer Job:
To support our North Wales work we're looking to grow our network of community contacts and volunteers. So, we've been funded to recruit a local Cancer Community Engagement Officer to cover the North Wales region. As part of a wider Wales team, you'll represent our North Wales community engagement work to grow awareness of Tenovus Cancer Care and build a volunteer network to help you do that.
The role's all about finding local connections and offering solutions to bring people affected by cancer together where they live and helping them be seen, listened to and understood to get the right support they need with our help.
Working with local volunteers you'll scope out, build and strengthen partnerships on a local and regional basis when it comes to helping our cancer communities. We work with our service users holistically at Tenovus Cancer Care. So, you'll also refer across all our own support services such as Counselling, our nurse led Support Line, Sing With Us and our Mobile Support Units as well as with your wider departments and colleagues across the organisation.
