About the role:
Campaigning is a key part of Aberdeen's Media strategy. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and support our Head of Campaigns & Media in executing our existing strategic communications and developing new ones that enhance our corporate reputation, promote our unique business model, and drive growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ideas and campaigns from strategy to implementation.
The role also entails day-to-day media relations for Aberdeen's Investments business and leading several European PR agencies. This involves creatively developing ideas for how to promote Aberdeen's Investment experts and specific funds and asset classes as well as identifying topical opportunities for them to comment on in both the national, trade, broadcast and wires press.
We also appreciate that people attracted to this role may also be experts in their own right on key issues, and this is a role with plenty of agency and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities - Campaigns:Lead delivery of comprehensive, bold thought leadership campaigns that align with Aberdeen's strategic objectives across the three businessses and showcase our distinctive approach to investment and long-term savings.
Contribute to policy work and thought leadership, ensuring Aberdeen's voice is heard by media and wider stakeholders on key issues, working closely with media relations, public affairs and wider teams.
Position Aberdeen as a key source of market intelligence, leveraging corporate storytelling from across the business and ensuring Aberdeen gets the full halo effect from its various subsidiary businesses.
Support the Head of Campaigns in working with and influencing journalists and trade associations as appropriate.
Collaborate with colleagues from across the business to support thought leadership campaigns.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Investments, Adviser and Personal Wealth Platforms, and corporate functions to ensure campaign messaging is consistent and effectively communicated across all channels.
Use campaign performance metrics and provide insights to optimize and improve future campaigns.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to increase Aberdeen's brand awareness, corporate reputation, and market presence.
Stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices to inform campaign strategies and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities - Investments PR:Work with the Head of Campaigns & Media to develop and execute strategies for promoting Aberdeen's Investment capabilities.
Develop creative ideas for promoting Aberdeen's investment capabilities as well as specific funds. Identify topical opportunities for Aberdeen's Investments spokespeople to comment on.
Draft press releases on key milestones for the Investments business.
Maintain excellent relationships with key journalists, including personal finance media, national business press and investments trade media.
Identify broadcast opportunities for Aberdeen's Investments spokespeople and maintain strong relationships with producers and broadcast planners.
Manage several of Aberdeen's international PR agencies, ensuring that our Investments clients overseas receive a regular feed of Aberdeen news and views.
Support on issues management as and when needed.
Strategic positioning to help build Aberdeen position in the real assets space is also key, finding innovative ways to talk about and raise the profile of Aberdeen's fixed income, credit, infrastructure, private markets and real estate business.
Aberdeen's thought leadership around closed end funds, equity income, and smaller companies is also key. This may also include key pieces of thought leadership to help Aberdeen tell this story in the press.
Working with product teams on new innovations will also be key.
