Overview:
Cascade Camps is a family run company that is friendly and lively. We run activity, adventure and sport experiences for children and young people. Our full-time and seasonal staff teams are full of energetic, motivated people who are passionate about what they do.

Job purpose
: To manage all aspects of the day-to-day running of one of our multi-activity camps for children aged 3-14 years, including managing the well-being and safety of all the children, young people, parents and staff on camp. This role will be based at one of our Hertfordshire based multi-activity day camp venues.
Key responsibilities of the Camp Director will include the following:
Overall responsibility for the daily running of one of our multi-activity day camps.
Deliver safe and successful camps in line with the operating procedures set out by Cascade Camps, and in accordance to additional information in the lead up to the camp.
Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children on camp.
Lead and inspire the staff team to achieve high levels of care, inclusion, instruction, organisation, and health and safety, adhering to all policies and procedures as set out by Cascade Camps.
Deliver staff briefings and deploy staff in accordance with the operating procedures set out by Cascade Camps.
Assist Cascade Camps Head Office staff in the completion of daily timetables.
Be the main point of contact for parents and Cascade Camps Head Office during the operating hours of camp each day.
Be involved in the running of activity sessions where possible.
Ensure staff are well prepared and activities are well run, engaging, safe and FUN.
Complete all pre and post camp paperwork and administration.
Attend a training and induction day and assist the team in the set-up and pack-away of the venue.
Liaise with Head Office regarding bookings, changes, complaints, child issues, etc.
Liaise directly with parents to resolve any issues that may occur during each day.
Review all Risk Assessments, making any amendments necessary and ensure staff are aware of risks associated with their activity and are being vigilant.
Manage the daily registration process and sign-out procedure.
Ensure OFSTED regulations are being met and act as the key person during an inspection.
Prepare activity timetables and ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use.
Carry out appraisals of all staff and complete activity observations.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential Attributes:
Have leadership/management experience in a childcare or activity based environment.
Hold an Enhanced DBS check or are willing to obtain one.
Excellent motivation and communication skills, verbal and written.
Experience working with groups of young people.
Ability to work under pressure and be professional at all times.
Show an understanding and commitment to the Cascade Camps ethos.

Desirable Attributes:
A qualified teacher or have extensive experience in the activity or childcare industry.
Have a Paediatric First Aid certificate or other up-to-date first aid qualification.
