CAD - Design & Estimating Technician
Inline with our continued success and growth, we currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to join the growing CAD team. Working as part of a small team reporting their responsibilities to the Design Manager. The main responsibility will be to create technical quotations and designs with CAD and BIM software.
Responsibilities:
Design - Generate accurate, high quality CAD drawings to relevant specifications and approved standards. Work with colleagues and clients. Attend site meetings as needed.
Estimating - Generate competitive, reliable cost estimates and material requirements from approved drawings, and accurate costs associated with authorised amendments.
Site Visits - Attend sites as required and undertake site surveys.
Documentation Managements - Ensure that drawing identification and version control is robustly maintained, and that drawing registers are updated with latest information.
Compliance and certification - Ensure designs are fully compliant with all applicable standards.
Construction design and development - Working with the projects department, installation engineers, clients, and other contractors.
Training and developments - you are required to complete all assigned training courses within the timeframe allocated and be proactive in maintaining professional technical knowledge.
Communication - Maintain good communications with clients and colleagues responding in a timely manner to emails, text messages, phone calls,
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Watermist suppression systems - Good knowledge of Watermist or sprinkler fire suppression systems and the wider fire prevention sector is desired but not essential
Technical - Experience in similar CAD design and estimating roles and holds relevant qualification in CAD design and a familiarity of BIM. Experience of Autodesk AutoCAD (or similar) is required and experience in Revit is desired but not essential as full training will be provided
Customer focus - Ability to communicate at a technical level with customers and maintain good relationships.
Information Technology - In addition to core CAD software expertise to be competent in Microsoft applications and be able to work with client specific software as required.
Construction Scheme (CSCS) Card - Have passed or able to pass the CSCS Health & Safety Test.

Pay: 25,000.00-30,000.00 per year
