Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
To develop supplier relationships to obtain the best service and negotiate best prices.
The procurement of materials to be delivered to agreed timescales to meet production requirements.
The procurement of materials to be bought at a competitive price in comparison to the quotation.
To place purchase requirements on suppliers by raising purchase orders using the Epicor ERP system.
Complete purchasing buy guides and/or other relevant documentation for traceability purposes.
Use MRP to ensure stock levels are sustained at a cost-effective level.
Ensure Just in Time (JIT) purchase principles are adopted.
Continually seek to reduce procurement costs to improve company profit margins and meet Strategic KPI's
Gain and maintain an understanding of in-house manufacturing capabilities.
To provide an efficient and effective quotation service to assist the sales department.
To monitor and chase progress of outstanding orders.
Ensure delivery dates in Epicor are correct and updated as per supplier open order books.
To keep the production department informed of any problems and ensure prompt completion of production shortage sheets.
To organize and investigate supplier issues with regards to incorrect products or discrepancies of orders received.
Assist where required, in other commercial functions as time allows.
To ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.,
The above is a list of general duties, you may be asked to assist in other areas from time to time, when workload dictates.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experienced in a Procurement / Purchasing position previously.
Knowledge of Electronics products / components.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office (advanced Excel skills desirable).
Previous experience working with ERP and MRP systems.
Experience of negotiating with suppliers.
Able to read engineering drawings/ datasheets - advantage.
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Be self-motivated and have a positive attitude.
Ability to work under pressure.
Possess an exceptional work ethic and flexibility to accommodate a fast-paced business environment.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook
