Akton recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for an experienced Business Support Office in the Southwark area. Ideal for those who are looking for a long-term contract. The role consists of supporting the Safeguarding Boards Manager to progress the work of the Partnership and Boards. Experience of creating agendas, taking minutes, tracking actions, working with excel, word, CANVA/Publisher are essential in this role. Experience of working with Boards or senior managers is essential. Also experience of working with multiagency partners in the social care field are desirable.
KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The post holder will be a member of a Team which provides high quality professional support and specialist advice to the Southwark Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB), and Southwark Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) which includes the Crime and Disorder partnership. The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring the shared administrative, minuting, database maintenance and statistical tasks and will be required to respond appropriately to a variety of senior people and agencies from the Board and sub groups, using their own initiative within agreed accountability.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To provide professional administrative support to all of the Board\'s activities as part of a team including everyday office functions; correspondence, database maintenance, archiving and filing (electronic and paper), telephone enquiries, management and support to the Board\'s meetings.
2. To provide direct administrative support to the Board\'s multi-agency sub groups advising the chairperson on local and national policy; the subgroup chairperson may be a senior employee of another organisation. To arrange complex meetings and ensure work plans and accurate summary minutes are created and monitored and to schedule subsequent meetings. To take lead responsibility for monitoring actions between meetings.
3. To carry out administrative functions, taking into account Southwark Children\'s Services policies, requirements of the Government procedures and individual circumstances. Advising Board members as necessary on these procedures.
4. To respond to written and oral enquiries on safeguarding issues making an assessment of urgency and action required. To refer on as appropriate and to respond to such enquiries sensitively and efficiently, whether orally or in writing.
5. To review key websites regularly for collating national statistical information, research and analysing relevance to the Southwark Safeguarding Children Board and its partners.
