Job Description


We are SSCL, the largest provider of business-critical support services for our Government, Police, and Defence customers.

We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join a very busy dynamic team who work on a wide variety of Business Intelligence tasks.
As our new Business Intelligence Reporting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in analysing and reporting data for the Police Service and wider business; transforming raw data into meaningful insights, reports, and user-friendly dashboards using tools such as Oracle Analytics Cloud.
Your expertise in data analysis, database management and reporting will contribute to the improvement of the Police Service and decision-making processes.

This is hybrid working role where you could be based anywhere in the UK

What you will be doing:

  • Engage with Senior Stakeholders and influence the direction of Business Intelligence whilst also using new technologies in line with Business strategy.
  • Lead, support and facilitate BI activities in line with business requirements.
  • Ensure governance is maintained on applicable Business Intelligence architecture and implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Provide technical direction to other team members to ensure technical capability objectives are fully achieved.
  • Provide a customer focused, service delivery mentality.
  • Carry out all People Management activities if required.
What you will bring:
  • Cloud technology experience.
  • Extensive experience in Oracle modules.
  • Advanced SQL and PL SQL skills.
  • Ability to translate complex functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficient in drafting technical documentation.
End to end development and test lifecycles.

Would be great if you had:
  • Experience of working with central government clients
  • Oracle Analytics Cloud, or another visualisation based reporting toolset e.g. Power BI, Tableau
  • Oracle Business Intelligence.
