A dynamic legal firm is looking to appoint a commercially savvy Business Development Manager to support their Commercial Disputes department to develop and drive forward the firm\'s business development strategy on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. This role will be focused on creating opportunities and delivering business development activity to drive the firm\'s growth strategy. Working closely with practice heads, key partners and the Head of Business Development, the Business Development Manager will provide support on various BD initiatives including the management of BD pipelines and budgets, and cross-selling across existing relationships. The successful applicant will contribute to the development and implementation of departmental BD plans, supporting partners to develop and execute their individual business plans, and manage the execution of BD activities across the Commercial Disputes practices. Maintaining and monitoring relevant BD budgets to ensure appropriate expenditure and suitable return on investment, you will identify priority growth areas, help develop and implement BD plans, identify market opportunities and work with fee earners to develop and sell services. The preparation of pitches will constitute an important element of the role. On the marketing side the role holder will provide strategic input during the legal directory process, support the delivery of targeted events and collaborate with the digital marketing team on the development, execution and review of campaigns ensuring they are an effective marketing and BD tool. You will be a highly organised team player with proven business development experience gained whilst working in a similar role within a reputable law or professional services firm to include demonstrable success in providing strategic input into business plans and developing and executing BD plans and growth strategies. In addition, the Business Development Manager will have excellent relationship and project management skills and in depth understanding of the commercial disputes market. Highly credible with the ability to influence, challenge and coach senior stakeholders, you must also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a high attention to detail and strong ability to manage multiple projects while prioritising time critical assignments.
