Job Description

As our Business Development Manager, you will drive the growth of our pioneering low-carbon heat solutions, developing long-term customer relationships while actively seeking out new business opportunities. Your role will be crucial in identifying and developing strategies to secure new contracts across Wales, the Midlands and Yorkshire.

Your mission will be to achieve and exceed revenue and profit targets through strategic negotiations and stakeholder management. Through this role you will have the chance to influence the low-carbon heating sector significantly, championing our sustainable energy solutions. Your efforts will not only contribute to our company's growth but also to the broader movement towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.

Job requirements

Ideally the candidate would be based in the Midlands, whilst Yorkshire, Wales and the surrounding areas would be the next preferred locations. Travel to our Cheltenham office will be required at the manager's discretion and at least on a monthly basis.



The successful candidate for the Business Development Manager position will possess sales ability, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills, critical for expanding our footprint in the low-carbon heat solutions market. Ideally you will live in the Midlands, and be able to travel to our Cheltenham office when agreed.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree is preferred

, with preference given to candidates holding degrees related to Business, Marketing, or Construction/Engineering. Experience and Skills:

A proven track record of at least 3 years in sales

or business development, ideally within the construction sector, renewable energy, or related industries, demonstrating the ability to identify opportunities, negotiate, and close deals successfully.

Exceptional interpersonal skills

with a history of developing and managing customer relationships, and the ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders including housebuilders, developers, and contractors.

High level of commercial awareness

, with a keen understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes.

Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets

, with a strategic approach to sales planning and execution.

Experience in leading sales strategies and initiatives

Job responsibilities

The role encompasses a range of duties aimed at expanding our market presence and driving the adoption of our low-carbon heat solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:

Sales Origination and Closure

: Initiation, development, and successful closure of new sales opportunities, ensuring our low-carbon heat solutions reach a wider market.

Strategic Relationship Development:

Cultivating and enhancing relationships with key industry players, including housebuilders/developers, M&E consultants, M&E contractors, main contractors, and other vital stakeholders, to foster long-term business opportunities.

Relationship Management:

Maintaining and nurturing existing relationships to ensure ongoing business and collaboration opportunities, with a focus on delivering value and satisfaction to all partners.

Presentation and Pitching:

Preparing and delivering compelling presentations to key potential customers and industry stakeholders, effectively communicating the value and benefits of our heat pump systems and networks.

Commercial Strategy:

Helping to develop commercial strategies to position our solutions strategically in the market, enhancing visibility, engagement, and ultimately, sales performance.

Market Analysis and Strategy Adaptation:

Using market analysis to understand industry trends, competitor dynamics, and customer needs, adapting strategies accordingly to maintain and enhance competitive advantage.

Revenue and Profit Targets:

Actively contributing to the achievement and surpassing of revenue and profit targets through strategic sales initiatives and effective negotiation and closing techniques.

Special Projects and Initiatives:

Leading and participating in special projects and initiatives as directed by management, aimed at enhancing our market position, product offerings, and operational excellence.
