The Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds (BCI) works to promote the understanding of Chinese language and culture with a business focus on helping companies to communicate more effectively with Chinese customers. The BCI delivers a range of activities to achieve this objective, including Mandarin courses, Chinese Proficiency Exams, online content, and events that are open to all (University students, staff and the general public).
The Project Assistant will play a key role in helping the BCI to achieve its objectives. Working within the BCI team and supporting the Communications and Engagement Officer you will contribute to a variety of BCI activities, such as scheduling and creating content for the website and social media, as well as organising events.
Through these activities you will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and Mandarin learners, internal and external to the University and to develop communication, project management and intercultural skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Business Confucius Institute Project Assistant your main duties will include:
Assisting with the recruitment of candidates to provide case studies for the blog and social media;
Contributing to the creation of blog posts, emails, social media posts and web content, helping to ensure that content is accessible and generating subtitles for video content where required;
Helping to develop the Business Confucius Institute Instagram account;
Assisting with the organisation of events. These may be online or in-person;
Contributing to meetings where appropriate;
Making suggestions for improvements to content and processes based on the data collected;
