With offices around the globe, we emphasize true, global collaboration by aligning our investment, technology and operations teams functionally around the world.Position Overview:As a Technical Business Analyst or Project Manager, you will be the key driver of the entire project lifecycle; starting from using requirements elicitation techniques to gather business requirements, identify problems or discover gaps, evaluate project objectives and track progress, to ultimately ensure successful delivery of the project.This presents the opportunity to take ownership of the business objectives and the development of technology solutions to facilitate the growth of the business. You will act as the primary interface between senior stakeholders, Business Product Management Team, Quantitative Research, Trading, Development, Quality Assurance, Production Support and Infrastructure Teams.Successful candidates will either join Squarepoint's Technical Business Analysis Team or Project Management Team based on skillsets, strengths and personal preference.The main responsibilities for Technical Business Analysts include:

  • Analyze current business processes and establish the full picture.
  • Identify technical needs and problems to solve based on thorough analysis.
  • Structure and scope requirements into technical projects.
  • Design end-to-end solutions, propose implementation options, provide evaluations and recommendations to make optimal decisions for the firm.
  • Drive the product design that aligns with firm-wide goals by collaborating with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain product and project specifications with exceptionally high level of accuracy.
  • Manage functional/technical knowledge and content and drive outstanding questions towards closure.
  • Establish project implementation plan and proactively monitor project progress while managing multiple priorities and communicating the priorities effectively to the project stakeholders.
The main responsibilities for Project Managers include:
  • Define the project scope, goals, stakeholders, milestones, dependencies and risks related to the project.
  • Create and maintain the project specifications/plan that is clear, comprehensive, feasible and agreed by project stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communications throughout the project among the project team members as well as with stakeholders and management.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the project, coordinate with project team members and resolve conflicts to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Proactively identify blockers and risks and escalate when necessary.
  • Participate in change management and process improvement initiatives as well as optimize existing procedures and controls.
  • Provide project transparency to stakeholders by giving comprehensive project updates on regular basis.
The ideal candidate for this role should have:
  • Strong requirement elicitation skills: ability to capture, conceptualize and structure requirements to simple, concise and comprehensive requirement specifications to minimize requirement gaps.
  • Strong documentation skills: ability to create and maintain highly accurate requirement specifications, project and product documents according to Squarepoint documentation standards.
  • Ability to abstract concepts, identify gaps and subtle differences, connect dots, internalize information, relate information to implications and question effectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with senior management, project stakeholders and end users globally, as well as communicate effectively across business and development teams.
  • Good understanding on software/hardware concepts, software architecture design and software development lifecycle (Waterfall or Agile).
  • Knowledge of various asset classes in either listed or OTC financial instruments such as Equities, Futures, Options or Fixed Income instruments.
  • Self-driven, independent, reliable, collaborative and strong sense of ownership.
  • Self-organized, exceptionally high level of accuracy in both written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously across different domains.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 to 10 years of total industry experience within finance with at least 2 years in a Technical Business Analyst role or Project Manager role.
  • Hands-on programming experience is required, preferably in Python or KDB+/q.
  • Atlassian Confluence and JIRA expertise is required, including corresponding macros/plug-ins.
  • Experience in initiating, defining, driving and implementing projects with explicitly scoped project milestones.
  • Degree in a Computer Science, Engineering field or equivalent.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in Microservice, Domain-Driven Design, API Design, cloud-native applications, distributed systems and DevOps is a plus.
