About the role:
This is an exciting new role and a great opportunity to join LifeArcs Technology team, working on the evolution of our Laboratory Information Management Systems and electronic lab notebooks. This will involve acting as the key Technology team member supporting the Therapeutic Platforms (TP) laboratory informatics platforms and data sciences pipelines.
The role includes:
Developing the laboratory informatics data model from raw data to published research.
Supporting the implementation of lab informatics systems.
Deployment of new data analysis workflows.
Technology subject matter expert for informatics system expansion projects.
Help design labs of the future as we move to our new lab-enabled facility in central London in 2027.
This role will need to operate in a matrix structure, working closely with the Data Sciences (DS) team, TP subject matter experts and the Project Management Office (PMO).
About you:
You will:
Support the development of the lab informatics data model and workflows in conjunction with the DS and TP teams.
Provide support for science software portfolio modernisation and evolution.
Provide Lab Information Management System administration supporting ~120 scientists.
Deliver the expansion of information system capabilities in line with evolving scientific needs and our move to a new office.
Lead analysis on information systems for lab instrument data analysis and experimental reporting across LifeArc. Facilitating user cases from the scientifically diverse needs of TP.
Work closely with the PMO to deliver system functionality and implementation, including training support, technical implementation and Data Model design to support 120+ scientists across all the TP functional areas.
Work with multiple end users with differing levels of experience, data processing skills, and use cases to design appropriate workflows.
Deploy new workflows and data analysis pipelines, working with the DS and TP teams.
Education & experience required:
Experience in working as a business analyst for IT systems within diverse matrix teams.
Proven record of delivery of system changes /system implementation.
Extensive experience of problem solving with complex and / or niche IT systems.
An ability to collaboratively design workflows with end users.
Highly effective communication and reporting skills.
A background in complex, or niche IT Systems, including some system administration experience.
An interest in, or background in Life Sciences would be beneficial.
Ideally educated to degree level, or equivalent.
