About Us

M-SParc, in partnership with Business in Focus and Menter M\xc3\xb4n, has secured a contract to deliver the Business Wales service as Enterprise Partnership Cymru (EPC) on behalf of the Welsh Government. Our mission is to provide expert advice and support to entrepreneurs throughout Wales.

The Role

As a Business Advisor - Start Up Young People, your primary focus will be on the Big Ideas Wales (BIW) Programme. If you\'re excited about igniting the entrepreneurial spark in young individuals aged 16-25 and supporting them on their business journey, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Your role will involve:

• Providing expert advisory support to young entrepreneurs through a range of channels, including digital platforms and face-to-face interactions
• Collaborating with Start-up Assessors and Start-Up Engagement Facilitators to ensure seamless client engagement and support
• Understanding each business\'s unique needs, provide tailored feedback, and identify growth opportunities
• Guiding clients in developing actionable business plans and securing start-up funding
• Offering information and assistance on start-up business essentials, including financial management, marketing, and legal considerations
• Facilitate referrals to relevant partners and resources for comprehensive support
• Empower young entrepreneurs to enhance their business skills and knowledge
• Manage client relationships, ensuring alignment with goals and KPI outcomes
• Contribute to the creation of informative digital resources and content
• Promote networking and engagement opportunities for clients within the business community
• Collaborate with the Start-Up Engagement team to ensure a seamless client journey from engagement to delivery
• Identify potential BW ambassadors among clients

To be successful in this role you should possess:

• Proven experience working with and supporting young people
• Familiarity with financial management, sources of finance, marketing, and other business essentials.
• Advisory qualification (ILM Level 5 Business Support, SFEDI Level 3, or equivalent) OR Management Qualification (ILM Level 5 Management, or equivalent) OR Degree level or above in entrepreneurship or business-related field is desirable
• Familiarity with local business trends and support services
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve effectively
• Proficiency in digital platforms and IT tools including Microsoft 365
• The ability to speak Welsh is highly desirable and essential in some circumstances
• Valid UK driving license and use of vehicle to travel across the region to attend events and meetings etc is essential

This is a part-time, contract vacancy for 24 months initially. Hours are 18.75 per week with some flexibility. Based at M-sparc, Gaerwen with some hot desking at other company working locations, travel across Wales and opportunities to work from home.
