Job Description


As a Business Administration Apprentice you will undertake administrative duties to all areas within the customer service department. You will complete a 2 year apprenticeship and will work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration.

British Engines Group Company, CMP Products, is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of cable glands, cable cleats and cable accessories. CMP manufactures its products from three facilities based in Cramlington, Northumberland, and has a global distribution network, supported by ten offices spread across six continents from Houston, USA, to Busan in South Korea.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

  • Develop competence in using the IFS business system, and to use the system to provide quick and accurate information
  • Ensure all customers\xe2\x80\x99 requests by email/telephone are adequately investigated/logged in call centre and swift action taken to resolve problems, involving the necessary individuals where required
  • Maintain a pleasant telephone manner, effectively communicate technical, commercial and order information to customers
  • Build good working relations between the business and the customer
  • Raise customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner onto the IFS system, and help with the investigation of complaints to resolve them in a timely manner Assist in the preparation of all necessary export and import documentation
  • Liaise with worldwide distributors, agents and overseas offices
  • Assist in the creation and despatch of invoices in a timely manner ensuring that customer documentary requirements are fully complied with
  • Organise returns from customers
  • Work in a safe manner; driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the company\xe2\x80\x99s health, safety and environmental policies
  • Carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected
Who we are looking for:

The successful candidate must have achieved GCSE\xe2\x80\x99s in English and Maths (A*-C/ 9-4).

You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office package, have the ability to provide high standards of customer service, prioritise own work and have a high level of attention to detail.

You must also have good communication skills and the ability to build working relationships throughout the business. Strong problem solving skills are essential.
